December 2024

Samdesk’s team has been monitoring Zara Lachlan’s solo row across the Atlantic, providing critical situational awareness. So far, only one crisis alert—a maritime hijacking attempt near Morocco—was quickly resolved with no impact on Zara. While poor weather has caused some setbacks, Zara remains in great spirits and is making strong progress, with 2,500 nautical miles to go.

January 2025

Zara has rowed over 3,000 nautical miles. Samdesk analysts have monitored her journey, flagging two crisis incidents: an attempted maritime hijacking and an unlit drifting boat off the coast of Morocco—neither of which impacted her directly. With the worst of the early weather behind her, Zara has been making incredible progress and now has just 300 nautical miles to go.

February 2025

4,100 miles and 97 days later, Zara has completed her row while setting a new world record!
